Polaroids & Models
What is a polaroid?
A clue - it isn’t one of those weird little square photographs that develop themselves. I had one of those cameras, and I used it occasionally in my work, but I never quite saw the point of it. Nice pictures are worth a little time and effort, IMHO.
But that isn’t even what we are talking about today. The big-P Polaroid camera has been around long enough to have its name appropriated by the modeling industry. Little-p polaroids are simple, un-retouched photographs that models provide to the agencies that hire them. The agencies use them to screen prospective models for advertising campaigns.
This short video gives you everything you need to know for when a friend or family member asks for your help to make a set of polaroids.
